The Friends of Jewry Wall Museum

The Friends of Jewry Wall Museum were established in 2004 to support the Museum’s many activities including family-friendly crafts, re-enacting Roman life and exploring the artefacts. The Friends' imaginative and inclusive approach resulted in them being awarded The Marsh Trust Award for Volunteering Contribution to Museum Learning in 2012.  They also raise funding to support additional activities, including £54,400 from the National Heritage Lottery Fund in 2017 for the, Telling the Story of Jewry Wall project which includes the creation of the Travel Through Time game and the Roman Walking Trail. The Friends have also published a cookbook A Taste of Roman Leicester based on recent archaeological research and modern kitchen testing.
